Let's discuss how we can help you translate change into opportunity
We wore a lot of blazers in our previous lives, with decades of experience at leading global companies under our combined belts. Today, we get to spend our time doing what we love most: helping high performers to find greater fulfillment in their careers.
We bring the strategic frameworks, data-driven rigor, and hard-earned pragmatism from our corporate years and apply it to your career planning. So we’re uniquely qualified to help you distill your career complexity into clear priorities, goals, and actions.
We’re in your corner every step of the way, empowering you to accelerate your career in the right direction.
Sarah Downs
OWNER & EXECUTIVE COACH
Sarah brings 20 years of professional experience in strategic planning, program management, and team leadership to her practice as a coach and facilitator.
Before building her practice as an external coach and consultant, Sarah had consistently been recognized across multiple organizations (Optum/UnitedHealth Group, PwC Advisory, Twitter, and Facebook/Meta) as a high-performing manager, leader, and internal coach.
Sarah’s coaching practice is a natural outgrowth of her desire to help people grow into high-performing professionals and leaders. Her approach is goal-oriented; reflective yet action-focused. Specific coaching and facilitation approaches are adapted to client preference but generally incorporate cognitive-behavioral techniques within a humanistic approach.
Sarah has worked across industries, including healthcare, retail and e-commerce, technology/software, social media, engineering, and energy sectors. She works with individual coachees through direct or tripartite (employer-sponsored) agreements. Her coaching clients include leaders in the consulting, insurance, investment, legal, media, and nonprofit industries across the United Kingdom, Europe and North America.
In addition to 1:1 coaching, Sarah also works as a facilitator for leadership development programs. She has delivered multiple experiential learning programs to executive audiences in Europe and North America, and currently partners with the University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler School of Business’s executive development program. She has designed and facilitated sessions for executive audiences ranging from 30 to 200.
Sarah received her Professional Certificate in Executive Coaching (PCEC) at Henley Business School, where she is currently pursuing an MSc in Behavioural Change through Coaching. She is accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) at the ACC level and with the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) at the Senior Practitioner level. Sarah previously earned her BA in Psychology and Masters of Public Health (MPH) in Health Policy & Management from Columbia University in the City of New York and a PGDip in Information & Library Studies from University of College London.
Kathryn Apte
OWNER & EXECUTIVE COACH
Across 25 years of business experience, Kathryn has observed one leadership truth that’s remained the same. The most effective leaders focus their energy on asking the right questions at the right time. While they might not be the most obvious questions, they’re the most meaningful questions to move the team forward. Today, Kathryn brings that same philosophy to her coaching practice.
Kathryn has held a range of executive positions including Boards, C-suite and Marketing leadership for companies including Google, Twitter, Medium, and Xero across North America and APAC. So she’s seen first-hand that even the most talented leaders can get swamped in the day-to-day rhythms of work, where career planning is rarely at the top of the ‘to do’ list. Until, of course, leaders are faced with an incoming change that feels impossible to ignore. Kathryn is inspired to work with these executive clients to help them cut the professional noise and take action.
We’ve all experienced coaches who talk more than they listen, sharing the same handful of anecdotes on rotation. Instead, Kathryn focuses on equipping clients to answer their own burning questions, so they’re empowered for the next step in their career journey – and for a few steps after that. Kathryn provides clients with the time and tools to turn change into a catalyst for their careers.
With deep experience leading large teams covering multiple operating areas, Kathryn draws on a wealth of knowledge about people management, from building a more productive team culture to managing a range of personalities on your team. She is passionate about developing high performers and investing in the next generation of leaders in your organization. Kathryn was delighted to receive the Marketing EDGE Rising Star Award in acknowledgement of her investment in mentoring.
Before her years at technology companies, Kathryn spent a decade building strategies for brands including Diageo, Johnson & Johnson, and Fairfax Media. That experience made her a real stickler for strategic planning and data analysis (as well as avoiding wearing a pantsuit ever again). Kathryn works with clients to apply and adapt strategy frameworks to their career planning process. Because whether it’s a Fortune 500 brand or your career journey, the same rules apply - those who plan, succeed.
